Introduction :
This page will provide an index for memorials of Irish deeds executed by the Hamiltons of Caledon. Captain William Hamilton was the proprietor of the Caledon estate, followed briefly by his eldest son, who in turn was succeeded by Captain William’s granddaughter, Margaret. In 1738, the estate passed to Margaret Hamilton and her husband, John Boyle jointly, as the Earl and Countess of Orrery.
