Introduction :
This page provides a genealogical outline of what has been discovered to date about the Ferguson family of Farriter townland in the parish of Killeeshil, county Tyrone.
Genealogical outline :
Earliest in the line found to date :
Andrew Ferguson (c.1680–aft.1757) 1 , 2 , 3
… His sons, David and John :
- David Ferguson (c.1711–bef.1775) 4 , 5
m. Margaret, daughter of John Huggins (I) of Glenarb 6
… Their children : - John Ferguson the elder (died aft.1775) 10 , 11
Note: The Rev. William Nixon, B.A., of Dublin was a nephew to John Ferguson the elder, 12 suggesting that Rev. Mr. Nixon was the son of a Mr. Nixon by John Ferguson’s sister if he had a sister or, perhaps less likely, by the marriage of a Mr. Nixon to a sister of John Ferguson’s wife, if he was married.
