Preamble :

  • The following is an annotated transcript of a Memorial of an Irish deed. The original text contains abbreviations, old legal terms, obsolete spellings, editorial markings, and so on.
  • The transcriber has reproduced the original text faithfully and also provided notes, or annotations, to assist the reader. Annotations are presented as hyperlinks to footnotes at the bottom of the page, remarks and variant spellings [within square brackets], or links to definitions of legal terms.
  • Within a transcript, some legal terms are hyperlinked, opening in a new tab , to definitions in our page, Legal terms used in deeds and other proceedings, on Arborealis.
  • Whereas the original text ran from start to finish in one paragraph, this transcript provides paragraph breaks between the various sections. for example, the title, notes in margin, body of text, sworn statements, and signatures. Paragraph breaks also serve to parse the various parts of the transaction.
