Marriage settlements found in memorials of Irish deeds

This page on Arborealis lists those memorials of Irish deeds which contain marriage settlements. Many of the memorials in this index pertain to the Barony of Dungannon in county Tyrone. However, some memorials have also been indexed or transcribed for other counties, such as Armagh and Monaghan.

  • 1708-02-01: Memorial no. 2-179-366: 1 — Whyte of Redhills, county Cavan et al to Naper et al, re: the marriage of Thomas Whyte of Redhills, county Cavan, Esq., son and heir apparent of Francis Whyte, with Sarah Naper, youngest daughter of James Naper of Logherue, county Meath, Esq.
  • 1708-02-15: Memorial no. 1-472-368: 2 — Hamilton of Caledon, county Tyrone to Dublin et al, on the occasion of the marriage of John Hamilton of Caledon with Lucy Dopping, daughter of Samuel Dopping of Dublin, Esq.
  • 1709-10-26: Memorial no. 8-4-1628: 3William Goodlatt of Derrygally, parish of Killyman, county Tyrone, gent., to Henry Stewart of Killymoon, parish of Derryloran, Esq., and Thomas Richardson of Dublin, gent. In consideration of a marriage portion of £400 on the marriage of Mr. Goodlatt and Catherine Richardson, Mr. Goodlatt conveyed the townlands of Gortree [Gortrea] and True, and the sessiogh of Clenteveie, lying in [the parish of Killyman and] the barony of Dungannon, as jointure to Catherine should she survive her husband; and after the deaths of William Goodlatt and Catherine, his wife, the lands to go to the rightful heirs of William.
  • 1716-10-19: Memorial no. 31-342-19418: 4 — Indenture of lease and release executed by Capt. James Stevenson of Stewartstown and William Fleming of Portadown, to Richard Timons of the parish of Seagoe and James Stephenson of Killyfaddy, county Armagh, on the occasion of the intended marriage of William Stevenson, son of Capt. James, and Elizabeth Fleming, daughter of William.

As with the other sub-sections under the heading, Irish Deeds, work on this subject index is an ongoing part of a long-term project.
