Research errors found in family history reports and trees

This section of Arborealis outlines errors found in family histories, trees, or reports, with suggested corrections. The reason for compiling these lists is to give other family historians fair warning of family trees which include incorrect information. Mistakes are often copied by family historians without checking the sources given by a family tree compiler. The other problem arises from copying over family history data when there were no source references cited in the first place. Then the next group of family historians copies the same errors, etc. etc.

  • Huggins of Glenarb, and descendants
  • Gordon of Lislea, parish of Kilrea, county Londonderry
